About

Emily Pereira, Psy. D.

I’m a licensed psychologist who works at the intersection of trauma, identity, and transformation. My approach is shaped by both rigorous training and a deep belief in the human capacity to heal.

I completed my B.A. in Psychology at Harvard University and earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from the PGSP-Stanford Consortium. My clinical training included internship and fellowship within the Department of Veterans Affairs, where I specialized in trauma-focused therapies and pain psychology. I later completed the Certification in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies and Research at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS).

Over the years, I’ve trained in a range of evidence-based and depth-oriented modalities, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Interpersonal Therapy for Depression (IPT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), psychodynamic psychotherapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy.

At the heart of my work is the belief that everyone is doing their best with the tools they have. Much of what we call “symptoms” began as ways of surviving, brilliant adaptations that once kept us safe but may now keep us from living fully. I don’t see my role as giving you answers, but as helping you access your own inner knowing.

Outside of my clinical work, I’m drawn to creativity, embodiment, and exploration, the same elements that infuse my therapy practice. I’m continually inspired by the resilience of the people I work with and the quiet moments of truth that emerge when we stop striving and start listening.
